PICKLEBALL TEAM LEAGUES

The team leagues model feature men's, women's, and mixed (combo mlp) teams for players aged 18+ and 50+. 

Pickleball Team League winners earn the opportunity to represent Texas at the NTPL annual national championships. 

Gender Brackets: Women's, Men's, and Mixed (MLP format).

Team leagues are managed by team captains. 

Team Leagues:  Men's, Women's 

18+: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5

50+: 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0. 

50+: 4.5**

6 players play weekly, suggested roster of 12-14.

MiXing iT Up!! 

18+: 3.0**, 3.5, 4.0**, and 4.5

50+: 3.0**, 3.5, 4.0**, and 4.5

4 players play weekly, suggested roster of 8-10.

**Nationals does not yet offer these flights yet; players will play for Texas State Championship without Nationals as of October 2024. 

Team Roster

•  Captain Responsibilities: The captain manages player invites to the team, weekly lineups, and is responsible for all facility fees, courts, and pickleballs, which will be divided among players.
• Joining a Team: To join a team, either find a captain, become a captain yourself, or reach out to SCP for assistance in connecting with a team.
• DUPR Minimums:  There is no MINIMUM rating a player must have to roster, it is highly recommended that players be no more than 0.5 lower than the listed rating for that division of play.
• DUPR Maximums: Players competing in each division must have a MAXIMUM rating of the following:
  • 3.0 Division → 3.49
  • 3.5 Division → 3.99
  • 4.0 Division → 4.49
  • 4.5 Division → 4.99

Match Format

• Three Rounds: Each team will compete in three rounds.
• Three Lines: Each team has 3 lines, and each line will face off against every other line.
• Game: Each line will play two games in each round played to 11 by 2. 
• All Visting team lines rotates lines after 2 games. 

Scoring: 

• +2 match points per game won
• +1 match point to losing team scoring at least 6 points during a game.
• If a team plays an ineligible player (player not on the roster, outside DUPR maximum, or unregistered sub) the entire match is forfeited. 

Substitution Policy

• Eligibility
  • Substitutes must have a verifiable DUPR rating within the division's range
  • Players with "NR" (Not Rated) DUPR scores are ineligible as substitutes
  • Subs MUST join SCP DUPR Club to be eligible to play.
  • Unlimited substitutes may be added with a $15.00 fee per player per match.
  • Each unique sub may sub only one time per team roster per season.
  • If the same sub is required to play a 2nd time on the same team, the $15.00 league fee is due, and the player will be elevated to full time.
  • Active players on other rosters can play for other teams with the sub fee payable before playing.
• Limitations
  • Maximum of one game allowed per player, per roster, per season. The same sub may play on multiple teams. 
  • Substitutes are not eligible to play in any play offs or to play at Nationals.
  • If a team plays an ineligible player (sub or DUPR), the entire match is forfeited. 

Match Reporting

• Matches with substitutes are reported to the DUPR account of all players.

Session Division Playoffs:

• Three teams advance to division playoff in a flight of 8 or more teams. 
• Two teams advance to division play off in a flight of 7 teams or less.
• Determination of Winners:

1.) Total Team Match Points

2.) Total Team Match Wins (if tied)

3.) Head-to-Head Results (for two-way ties; for three-way ties, proceed to total team points)

4.) Total Team Game Points

5.) Overall Games Won Percentage

Advancement Opportunities:

• Cities: League division winners advance to compete at the city level.
• Nationals: Top teams will earn the chance to represent Texas at the National Championships!

Team Annual Calendar

FLEX LEAGUES FOR SINGLES AND FIXED DOUBLES PARTNERS

These leagues feature men's, women's singles and doubles, and mixed doubles for players aged 18+ and 50+. 

FleX division winners advance to annual city play offs in May.

Leagues: Singles and Fixed Doubles

Gender Brackets: Women's, Men's, and Mixed.

DUPR and Age Divisions

18+: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5

40+ 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5

50+: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5

DUPR RATINGS

• DUPR Minimums:  There is no MINIMUM rating a player must have to roster, it is highly recommended that players be no more than 0.5 lower than the listed rating for that division of play.

• Doubles: Each game played to 21 points win by 2.
• Singles: Each game play to 15 points win by 2.

• +1 bonus match point if won in 2 games
• If a team plays an ineligible player (sub without a valid DUPR), the entire match is forfeited. 

Substitution Policy

SIGN UP TO BE A FREE FLEX LEAGUE SUBSTITUTE

• Eligibility
  • Substitutes must have a verifiable DUPR rating within the division's range
  • No cost for substitutions
  • Players with "NR" (Not Rated) DUPR scores are ineligible as substitutes
  • Player must be a member of SCP DUPR Club.
• Limitations
  • Maximum of two substitutes allowed per season
  • Exceeding this limit disqualifies you/your team from winning the league
• Match Reporting
  • Matches with substitutes will not be reported to DUPR
  • These matches still earn match points for the league standings

Winners:

Winners proceed to annual city championships.

  • 5.) Overall Games Won Percentage

Prizes:

Singles competes for $25.00 cash prize.
